We didn’t get a real Pride Month last year. Locked inside with no idea when the world would return to normal we all missed out on what makes Pride Month special; our queer peers.
People are getting vaccinated and restrictions are lifting in parts of the world, plus we’ve figured out how to adapt better to a virtual environment. This celebration of identity and love matters more now that we’ve all lost connection over the past year.
To celebrate Pride and give back to our community, Venvs is donating 2% of its June profits to the Born This Way Foundation.
Venvs is a queer-owned business that offers jewelry that is meant to be worn by anyone, no matter their race, gender, sexuality, sexual orientation, or ability. We are proud and want to celebrate Pride with our community and give back to an organization that is helping people.
The Born This Way Foundation is a queer-owned non-profit that strives to better young people’s mental health. The organization provides programs, funding, and education on how to have a healthy relationship with mental wellness.
The mental health of young people is a crucial part of Pride. Lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth are almost five times as likely to have attempted suicide than their straight peers. Over 40% of trans adults have attempted suicide and 92% of those individuals had attempted before the age of 25.
We believe strongly in the need to support the members of the LGBTQ+ community who are struggling and help them find resources and tools to live happy, queer lives.
Pride may not be fully back to normal yet, but we can still celebrate in the ways that matter; by supporting members of our community. Buying queer-owned in June is incredibly important to support businesses that aren’t just LGBTQ+ friendly one month out of the year.
So celebrate with Venvs, and support the work of The Born This Way Foundation with our gorgeous selection of earrings, rings, bracelets, and necklaces. For more information on our philosophy and our products, click here.
